A gourmet journey through the Corsican vineyards. You'll stop at family-run wineries, taste local wines, and discover the island's unique terroirs. Between sea and mountains, this trip combines the pleasure of driving with the delights of the senses.

Stage 1 - Losari → Cap-Corse - AOP Cap Corse / Muscat du Cap-Corse (between Luri and Macinaggio)

Explanation:

 

A vineyard over more than 50 km from Luri to Macinaggio and 50 minutes from the Bastia road. Set off to discover excellent AOPs (notably the AOP Corse Coteaux du Cap Corse) as well as the very famous Muscat du Cap Corse, you can also visit some of the most beautiful typical villages of the island.

Step 2 - Cap-Corse → Patrimonio - AOP Patrimonio

Explanation:

 

The Patrimonio wine region is a must-see for wine lovers. Patrimonio wines are renowned for their quality and originality. They are made from rare and ancient grape varieties, grown in volcanic soils. They are also known for their length on the palate and their complexity. The reds are generally powerful and tannic, while the whites are more fruity and aromatic.

Step 3 - Patrimonio → Calvi - AOP Corse Calvi

Explanation:

 

The Calvi wine route is one of the island's best-known and most popular itineraries. The route begins in the town of Calvi and passes through neighboring villages before reaching the vineyards. Lined with numerous hotels and restaurants, it stretches from Calvi to Ile Rousse, passing by several estates such as Orsini and Cardi.

Step 4 - Calvi → Ajaccio - AOP Ajaccio

Ajaccio

Explanation:


The wines of Ajaccio are among the most renowned in Corsica. Nestled between the sea and the mountains, the vineyards benefit from a sunny climate and granite soil, resulting in wines of character. Here, the king of grapes, Sciaccarellu, produces elegant and spicy reds, perfect for pairing with Corsican charcuterie or aged cheese. You'll also find fresh and fruity rosés, ideal for enjoying as an aperitif while watching the sunset.

Step 5 - Ajaccio → Sartène - AOP Sartène

Explanation:

 

The wines of Sartène reflect the full force of the Corsican maquis. Niellucciu, the emblematic grape variety, produces powerful reds with aromas of black fruit and spices, perfect for pairing with grilled meats or wild boar stew. There are also characterful white and rosé wines, rarer, but always marked by this wild and elegant identity.

Step 6 - Sartène → Porto-Vecchio - AOP Figari and AOP Porto-Vecchio

Explanation:

 

  • AOP Corsica Figari: AOP Figari is located northwest of Bonifacio, in the south of Corsica. It is one of the oldest wine-growing regions in Corsica.

  • Porto-Vecchio PDO: The vineyard is located around the town of Porto-Vecchio and covers 90 hectares between Solenzara and Bonifacio. Nielluccio and Sciaccarello grapes are blended to produce the Vin-de-Corse-Porto-Vecchio PDO, an elegant and well-rounded red wine. A dry white wine is produced using Vermentino grapes.
