An itinerary designed for mountain enthusiasts and those who love sporting challenges . From Monte Cinto (2706 m, the highest point in Corsica) to the Aiguilles de Bavella via Monte d'Oro, each day offers a sustained hike, between 600 and 1200 m of positive elevation gain. No need for technical equipment, but good shoes and a solid physical condition are essential. The reward: magnificent panoramas, immersion in wild nature, and friendly evenings in mountain inns or campsites.

Description

  • 4 nights/5 days (5th day = return to Losari)

  • 600 to 1200m of positive elevation gain

  • For mountain enthusiasts

  • Intermediate to advanced level

  • No equipment required (except shoes)

Day 1: Losari → Calacuccia

Hike: Monte Cinto

 

  • 6 to 9 hours round trip, D+ 1300m

  • Departure: Lozzi

  • The highest peak in Corsica (2706 m)

 

Where to eat:

 

  • E Cime Farm Inn

  • U Castellu Hostel

 

Parking/overnight:

 

  • Camping Monte Cinto

  • Bivouac possible

Day 2: Calacuccia → Haut Asco

Hike: Capu Tafunatu or Capu Larghia

 

  • 5 to 8 hours round trip, 1000 m elevation gain

  • Departure: Haut Asco (GR20)

 

Where to eat:

 

  • Chalet Haut Asco Restaurant

  • Picnic option to be ordered at the E Cime hostel the day before

 

Parking/overnight:

 

  • Parking or nature area on the Asco road

  • Descent to Asco village for more comfort

  • Location at a local: HomeCamper

Day 3: Haut Asco → Bavella

Hiking: Alpine crossing of the Aiguilles de Bavella (GR20)

 

  • 5 to 6 hours, D+ 800 m

  • Departure: Col de Bavella

  • Bella Vista Campsite

Day 4: Bavella → Vizzavona

  • Departure: Vizzavona station
